After helming the 2017 Academy Award-winning war drama Dunkirk, ace filmmaker Christopher Nolan is back with his next film, Tenet. The film recently made headlines after veteran Indian actress Dimple Kapadia was cast in the action epic, which will also feature Robert Pattinson, Michael Caine, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Kenneth Branagh and Clemence Poesy. While the film is expected to be shot in seven countries, we now hear that Nolan will shoot some portions of the film towards mid September in Mumbai.
The filmmaker was reportedly on a recce in the Maximum City in February and then again, in April this year. And finally, he would be making his return in September to shoot the project, mostly in South Bombay. A leading daily quoted a source as saying, “Nolan was in Mumbai last year for an event hosted by Film Heritage Foundation’s Shivendra Singh Dungarpur on the need to promote the use, restoration and preservation of films. During his four-day stay he decided to shoot here, and in September will mostly be filming in South Bombay, around the Gateway of India, the Taj Mahal hotel and the Colaba Market. For the recce, he was accompanied by production designer Nathan Crowley and cinematographer, Hoyte Van Hoytema among other team members with Shivendra helping them scout for locations too."

Talking about Dimple's character in the film, the source added, “Dimple plays a 60-plus lady who has a crucial role in the narrative. Her readings were done at a Sobo hotel," adding that the Mumbai schedule of the film may last up to seven-eight days as a major chase sequence is supposed to be shot. Interestingly, some Hollywood actors are expected to fly down as well.
Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures in theatres worldwide, Tenet is slated to release on July 17, 2020.
