The makers of Taapsee Pannu's video game based film Game Over dropped in the official trailer of the film on social media platforms on Thursday. Game Over is a story of a girl (Taapsee) who is bound to a wheelchair post an accident. She has to defend her home and save herself from a mysterious man who poses a threat to her life.
The trailer opens to the daily chores in Taapsee's character's life. Soon into the trailer, we get to know that she suffers from a phobia from darkness named Nyctophobia and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. PTSD is a mental health condition that's triggered by a terrifying event, either experiencing it or witnessing it. Taapsee informs her servant that she can't stay in darkness for more than 2 minutes and hasn't slept for days together. Suddenly, Taapsee, while trying to sleep, hears a knock on the door and seemed threatened by someone.
Towards the end of the trailer, we can see Taapsee trapped with a plastic bag covering her face and hands tightly wrapped together with a rope. The trailer touches upon a sub-story that girls in the area where Taapsee stays, are being put down to death by an unknown person. Is this the same man who is hunting Taapsee? The film can certainly answer this question. Talking about the trailer, terrifying and gritty background music score a brownie point for making such a powerful impact on the viewers. Taapsee's acting is sharp and real. With her on screen, it becomes difficult to lose attention from what's happening on the screen. Watch the trailer here:
Game Over is directed by Ashwin Saravanan. The film is a bilingual release with Anurag Kashyap bankrolling the Hindi version. The music of the film is composed by Ron Ethan Yohann. Game Over will release on June 14.
