I felt it was an invasion of my privacy: Anurag Kashyap on rebuking a photojournalist for clicking his picture

Anurag Kashyap might be one of the most prolific filmmakers in Bollywood but he is often caught in controversies for his words. Recently, he received tremendous backlash when he rebuked a photojournalist on clicking his picture as he seemed downright rude and impolite. He was reported as asking the photographer to go and take a look at his face in the mirror before clicking a picture of Kashyap.

Today, at the trailer launch of his production venture Game Over, Anurag was once again asked about the incident and whether in hindsight he would like to apologize for his behaviour. However, Anurag said, “I feel it is an invasion of my privacy when I am out doing some of my personal work. I even refuse selfies.” When he was asked that often PR machinery of celebrities circulate messages so that they can be clicked and whether he feels that his stand was correct, Anurag said, “I don’t have such machinery working for me. I say what I feel is right.”

Anurag is often caught in controversies. Most recently his daughter was targeted by a social media troll because of him being a dissenter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Instead of filing an FIR against the miscreant he chose to send out a tweet tagging the PM that brought more ire towards him. Subsequently, he did file an FIR and thanked PM Modi and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis for ‘starting the process’.
