Filmmaker Mahi V Raghav had made a biopic title Yatra on former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Rajashekar Reddy (YSR), last year and now looks like a film on the present CM of AP is in talks. In the recently-concluded Lok Sabha election, YSR's son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, president of YSRCP, registered a landslide victory. News about a possible biopic on YS Jagan's life has been making the rounds for quite some time now.
Going by the latest reports, Mahi V Raghav felt that this would be the best time to work on YS Jagan's biopic and his massive victory over ex-CM N Chandrababu Naidu. Yatra's sequel will concentrate on Jagan's padayatra which brought him to power. A source told a daily, "Director Mahi is on the verge of finalizing the core team for the groundwork on the project, after which he will commence the script work."
It is also reported that Tamil actor Suriya, who is awaiting the release of NGK, is being considered to reprise YS Jagan in the biopic. "Mahi feels Suriya is a superstar and is young, he is the ideal protagonist. Moreover, Suriya’s proximity to Jagan will only justify the casting," the source added.
