On Sunday, producer Bhushan Kumar said that the biopic on his father, pioneer of T-Series Gulshan Kumar titled Mogul is all set to go on floor after much delay due to a major change in casting. Bhushan said the casting has been done and the film with kickstart in 2020-if reports of a leading daily are to be believed. The role of Gulshan in Mogul was supposed to be played by Aamir Khan, who was also the co-producer of the film along with Bhushan. Unfortunately, Aamir backed out of the film after reports of sexual harassment against the director Subhash Kapoor surfaced.
Addressing the film's latest development, Bhushan told the daily that they aren't in a hurry to make the film as it is an emotional one and not a commercial venture for them. He informed that the new cast will be announced soon. “It’s an important and an emotional film for us and that is why it is taking time. We want to make it the best. I am not in a hurry for it because it is not a commercial film for me. Whatever comes, I will have to donate it. That is our family’s thought process since the beginning. We will be announcing the actor very soon. That actor definitely needs seven-eight months to adapt into it. The film will start somewhere in 2020,” Bhushan quoted.

Asking whether Aamir is still likely to act and co-produce, Bhushan said he will co-produce the film but whether he will become the face of his father on screen is still unsure. “I can’t say anything about it right now. Now, I am very comfortable about it because I know the film is happening and with the best person who looks (laughs) like my father. There is no ambiguity in that. So, I am very happy about that,” Bhushan added.

For the unversed, Akshay Kumar was the one who was zeroed upon to play Gulshan's role but due to some creative differences, the role went to Aamir. Clearing that there are no issues between him and Akshay, Bhushan said, "Whatever happened, it happened for the good. I have nothing against anyone. We are working on two-three films with Akshay ji. Whatever miscommunication was there has also gotten cleared. Everything is in a positive space now."
As of now, team Mogul is eyeing for a 2021 date for release.
