Siddhant Chaturvedi impressed one and all with his impeccable performance in Zoya Akhtar’s directorial Gully Boy playing rapper MC Sher. The film also starred Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead. Siddhant first made his debut in Excel Entertainment’s web series Inside Edge and from there bagged the role in Gully Boy. The production house of Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani also had plans to launch Siddhant as the main lead in one of their forthcoming films but could not find a suitable script. However, now the production company has apparently locked a script for Siddhant.
According to a trade website, Siddhant will be starring in a film directed by Ravi Udyawar who directed late Sridevi starrer Mom in 2017. The film will also be backed by Farhan’s and Ritesh’s Excel Entertainment. Details about the film are not yet known but the film is touted to be a thriller and will be extensively shot in Mumbai. The film is supposed to go on floors by the end of the year and is expected to have a late 2020 release.
Siddhant has received lots of acclaim and accolade for his role in Gully Boy. He has also been roped in by Sony Pictures to be the voice for the Hindi version of Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson starrer Men In Black: International along with Sanya Malhotra. The film is going to release on June 14.
