Not just Tara Sutaria but Siddhant Chaturvedi also auditioned for Will Smith's Aladdin!

Siddhant Chaturvedi is a national crush and there is no denial. His portrayal as the street smart rapper MC Sher in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy made not just girls go weak on their knees but also impressed a bunch of directors with his Bollywood debut. But did you know, Siddhant's Gully Boy's audition wasn't the first one for him? Yes, the actor, before trying his luck in Bollywood, made an attempt in Hollywood by auditioning for the lead role in Disney's Aladdin, now played by Mena Massoud. Siddhant, while giving an interview to a media agency, disclosed the fact and said he was amongst the top 20 contenders from India.

"I had auditioned for the lead role in Aladdin'. I was there in at least top 20 from India. This is for the role of Aladdin, they were looking for an Indian boy back then but then they decided the accent needs to be international. It was their call," Siddhant told the agency.

Not just Aladdin but Siddhant auditioned for the 2014 released Million Dollar Arm. "There was another film called Million Dollar Arm. I did audition for it as well, it was not for dubbing. They had two Indian guys who play baseball, I did the audition for that. They felt I was too upmarket and fair for it," Siddhant quoted.

Talking about his upcoming release Men In Black: International, Siddhant, who dubbed Chris Hemsworth for the Hindi release said that he wants to break the language barrier between Hollywood and Bollywood and also revealed how he grabbed the film. "I do believe we are no less than anyone else. It is a language barrier between two film industries - Hollywood and Bollywood and I want to break that barrier. I was looking to sign my next film and was reading a lot of scripts. My agent called me and asked me if I would be interested to dub for Chris Hemsworth's character in his Hollywood film Men In Black. I almost choked. I am a huge fan of Chris, he is a superhero, he is Thor," Siddhant said.

Speaking about his career in Bollywood, the actor said he is currently focusing on Hindi films but remains open to working in Hollywood too. " I am an Indian actor but I want to do everything. At the moment I want to focus here but I am open to the idea of working there," Siddhant added.
