The makers of Meezaan Jaaferi's and Sharmin Segal's debut film Malaal launched the second song titled Udhal Ho. The song is set against the backdrop of the extravagant celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi in a chawl in Mumbai. Udhal Ho is picturised on Sharmin and Meezaan when they experience their moment of love at first sight.
The song begins with Sharmin's Aastha seeking blessing at the Ganpati mandap when Meezaan's Shiva sees her for the first time and instantly falls in love with her. Soon after, Aastha and Shiva break into a typical Maharashtrian style jig. A while into the song, we get an indication that Aastha too has fallen for Shiva, with whom she performs the Ganesh aarti towards the end. Udhal Ho makes a commendable effort to inject in the true Marathi flavours that can be seen during Ganeshotsav in Maharashtra. The song wins a brownie point for incorporating traditional aspects of the festival and the culture by utilising lyrics from a popular Marathi fugdi song Phu Bai Phu originally penned by Shahir Vitthal Umap brilliantly. Udhal Ho scores well with the authenticity in the music that brings out the hidden dancer in you to shake a leg on the spot.

Talking about the lead actors, Sharmin looks gorgeous in a green and pink navvari. Her look is rounded off with the traditional nath, gajra and simple jewellery. She performs fugdi with perfection and does her dance steps really well. Meezaan looks dapper in a simple kurta pajama and steals the show with his swift dance movement. Adarsh Shinde has lent his vocals to Udhal Ho while the producer of the film Sanjay Leela Bhansali has composed the song. Prashant Ingole has written the lyrics.
