Rishi Kapoor confirms he is returning to India in August-end for his birthday, says 'I have recovered well and I am feeling good'

In May, filmmaker Rahul Rawail had announced that his close friend, Rishi Kapoor, is now cancer-free. Later that month, Rishi tweeted,  “Today, I complete eight months in New York. Will I ever get home?”. And now reports say that the actor, who is recovering well, will come home in time for his 67th birthday on September 4.

When a leading daily reached out to the actor, he confirmed the news, saying, “Yes, I am trying to return by August-end, depending on what the doctors at the hospital say. I have recovered well and I am feeling good. Must be 100% fit by the time I am back.”

According to a source close to the actor, he wants to celebrate the day with his family and friends in India and will be back in a couple of months. “He is 100% cancer-free, and under the doctors’ observation for the time being. He is staying at a private apartment and enjoying life in the Big Apple. Being a cricket buff, he is also following the on-going cricket World Cup in England and keeps discussing the results of the matches with his friends in India,” the source informed.

For now, Rishi is required to visit the hospital regularly for routine check-ups. “But there is nothing to worry about. He is now allowed to eat food of his choice and is exploring few of his favorite restaurants with well-wishers,” the source added.

Rishi will complete a year of living in NYC in September. The actor had left for London, last year in September and since then several Bollywood celebrities have been visiting him there.
