After a disappointing performance against India on Sunday, 16 June, in Manchester during the ongoing Cricket World Cup, Pakistani players have received a lot of backlash and ridicule. They have come under scanner by not only the experts but the netizens alike who have been trending memes on their captain Sarfaraz Ahmed’s yawn during the match. This was Pakistan’s seventh consecutive defeat against India in World Cup and by the biggest margin of 89 runs. However, Shoaib Malik, a senior player in the Pakistani team received a lot of criticisms for his poor performance.
But things got out of hand when a video of him with his wife, Indian tennis champion Sania Mirza and their son Izhaan Mirza Malik having dinner at a restaurant surfaced online. The video also had Pakistani players Wahab Riaz and Imam-ul-Haq and it led to several theories and stories on media. The video was noticed by Sania on June 15 that the person who had made the video disrespected their privacy. She went on to say, “people are allowed to eat if they lose a match". The user’s Twitter account has been deactivated. But an ugly feud ensued between Sania and Pakistani actress Veena Malik who asked the tennis champ that why did she take her son to a “sheesha place”. Sheesha, an oriental tobacco pipe, could be "hazardous" for the child. Check out their Twitter war below.
Veena,I hav not taken my kid to a sheesha place. Not that it’s any of your or the rest of the world’s business cause I think I care bout my son a lot more than anyone else does :) secondly I am not Pakistan cricket team’s dietician nor am I their mother or principal or teacher https://t.co/R4lXSm794B

Veena retweeted the video which is no longer available. Sania, in turn, blocked Veena and also deleted a tweet where she apparently referred to a magazine cover featuring the Pakistani actress.
Have some guts & don't delete ur tweets.Fortunately the technology has progressed so much that people can't deny their acts.Oh the magazine's cover u mentioned had morphed images. Also I can bringup all the controversies U have ever had bt I would rather not divert the discusion. pic.twitter.com/8qednFvEBz

Dearest Bhabhi,
Attacking someone personally and reaching new heights of being low will not take you anywhere.
Love,
Veena Malik. https://t.co/eaB1ua1ZPR— VEENA MALIK (@iVeenaKhan) June 17, 2019
Before Veena’s tweet, Sania and Shoaib were under attack on social media. The netizens claimed that the couple was partying with the Pakistani cricket team a day before the India-Pakistan match. However, Pakistan Cricket Board issued a clarification that the photos of the players dining and partying were not from the eve of the game. "The cricketers did not violate their curfew," a PCB spokesperson told a leading Pakistani daily.
