Sanjay Dutt, off late, has been coming out in the open to address the grave issue of drug abuse amongst the youth in India. Sanjay hasn't shied away to speak about being under the custody of drugs in his youth and spoke at length about the side effects of it at various public events. Now, as per sources close to the Central Government, the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi is reportedly keen on appointing the actor to headline the Anti-Drugs campaign, initiated by the Government to prevent drug abuse. The sources also said that the Government is likely to make an official announcement regarding the same on June 26.
The Central Government led by Mr. Modi has flagged off a movement to generate awareness about the demerits of drugs consumption and to lend counseling and provide treatment to those under the influence of it. The Government aims to slash down the count of people trotting towards the roads that leads to the ill effects of drugs. The movement will be operational between 2018-2025. Not just this, the target also remains to free those who are already affected by the drugs. This initiative will be implied in 127 districts across India.
