Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar's upcoming film Gulabo Sitabo will bring megastar Amitabh Bachchan and actor Ayushmann Khurrana together on the big screen for the first time. Recently, in an exclusive interview with a leading portal, Ayushmann opened up about working with Big B and said that he is really excited to work with him. "Both, it’s like mixed feelings. I have butterflies in my stomach. I don’t know how will I feel when I face Mr Bachchan for the first time on screen together, and I and excited since Shoojit Sircar and Juhi Chaturvedi it’s a dream team coming together after Vicky Donor and Piku so really excited," he was quoted as saying.
Written by Sircar's frequent collaborator Juhi Chaturvedi of Vicky Donor, Piku and October fame, Gulabo Sitabo is produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar. The film will hit the screens on April 24, 2020. The family comedy is set in Lucknow and Big B has already started shooting for the same in the capital of Uttar Pradesh.
Interestingly, Ayushmann has an eclectic lineup of films ahead, including Article 15, Dream Girl, Bala and Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. When asked how he selects his films, he said, "I just have to find something different in a film, in a script. If that excites me then I will go for it. I always kept the script above my character as a rule. That’s about it. It has to be quirky, it has to be a first attempt in the Hindi cinema, these are the certain tick boxes."
His next film, Article 15, helmed by Anubhav Sinha will hit the screens on June 28.
