Not the box-office numbers of 'Arjun Reddy' but this reason made Shahid Kapoor take up 'Kabir Singh' as his first remake film

With less than 24 hours for Kabir Singh to release, Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, are busy gearing up for it. The co-stars have been navigating across the country to promote their film and with interviews queued up, Shahid and Kiara opened their hearts while sharing their journey with Kabir Singh. During one such interview, Shahid revealed that Kabir Singh is the first remake in his career and spoke about the reason to take up the film.

"I don't usually do remakes. Kabir Singh is the first remake of my career. We see films through box office number, like this film earned a lot toh remake karlo. But for Kabir Singh, I heard that people loved it a lot. Many people came and told me that they were really affected by the film, it was one of their favourite films and when I saw it, I felt the same," Shahid told during the interview.

The actor further added that he could connect to the character and film which eventually stayed back with him. "I connected to the character, I connected to the film. It stayed with me. The reason I did Kabir Singh was that I strongly connected with it. Also, since the Telugu audience loved this film, I got a chance to bring this film to the national audience, so it is a good opportunity for me," Shahid quoted.

Speaking of Kabir Singh, the film is about a hot-tempered medical student Kabir, who falls in love with his junior at college, Preeti. Soon, Preeti gets married off to someone else, leaving Kabir shattered. He sets himself on the journey of self-destruction. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Kabir Singh will hit the screens tomorrow.
