Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh, which is set to release tomorrow, had grabbed eyeballs for its violent content and this didn't go down well with many of the audience around. The film, revolving around Shahid's Kabir and Kiara Advani's Preeti, touches upon the topic of self-destruction after Preeti is married off to someone else, leaving Kabir disheartened. Opening about the criticism that the film is receiving for its violent content, Shahid, during an interview with a leading daily said Kabir Singh is a film and not a real-life story.
"That’s a hypothetical question! You think I haven’t seen enough of those? I had Padmaavat and Udta Punjab back-to-back, so you can imagine how that must’ve been. It’s a movie. It’s not real life. So, people should focus on the wrong things that happen in their life," Shahid told the daily.

Shahid further added that films are made for the purpose of entertainment and people work hard to make them. He also said nobody is responsible and it is impossible to please everyone with ever film. "You don’t make a movie to piss somebody off. You want everybody to come to the theatre. It’s just part of the job that comes and goes," Shahid quoted.
Speaking of the film, Kabir Singh is all set to release tomorrow. The film is the official remake of the Telugu superhit film Arjun Reddy featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in lead roles. Like the original, Kabir Singh is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
