Amitabh Bachchan's fans in Lucknow are in a frenzy ever since Big B arrived in the Uttar Pradesh state capital for a month-long schedule of his new film, Shoojit Sircar's Gulabo Sitabo. Amitabh began shooting for the film on Wednesday at the famous Mahmoodabad House in Qaiserbagh area. He plays the owner of the palatial house in the film and actor Ayushmann Khurrana plays his tenant. Incidentally, a picture of Big B with a beard, head scarf and a prosthetic nose, has been going viral on social media since morning. Even pictures of him and Shoojit from Thursday were trending on social media recently. The leak of the pictures did not reportedly go down well with Shoojit and he called an emergency meeting to beef up security on the film sets.
According to a leading daily, no one is now allowed to carry mobile phones too inside the shoot location and signs of ‘no recording’ and ‘mobile phones’ allowed have been put up everywhere. "An emergency meeting was called by Sircar sir and the producers to beef up the security at the shooting venues. The end result was that the shooting on Thursday had to be postponed for several hours while this issue was being sorted out," revealed a source from the sets.
Amitabh had arrived in Lucknow on Monday afternoon and on Tuesday, he went to see the location and did a recce of the site. The film will be shot on locations mostly in the old parts of the city. Gulabo Sitabo has been written by Juhi Chaturvedi of Piku fame. It is scheduled to release in April 2020.
