National School of Drama, Delhi is one of the foremost theatre training institutions in the world and the only one of its kind in India. It is an elite institute from where several of our acclaimed actors and directors have passed out from. Admission to the institute was and is a tough job and whoever does get in it means that the person must have some special talent. Today, thanks to nepotism our present generations actors do not need to study at such a prestigious institution and get their big Bollywood break on the merit who their parents are and whom they are friends with. However, there was a time when Bollywood had passouts from NSD who went on to make great cinema.
Some of the alumni are still doing a great job and even though they are no longer young they still manage to create an impression in the minds of the audience with their stellar act. Veteran actress Neena Gupta who is an alumnus of NSD shared a treasure trove of nostalgia on her Instagram account today. She shared throwback pictures of herself and her fellow classmates when they were all studying at the institute. She captioned the picture as, “When we all started at National School of Drama! #Throwback.”

All these veteran actors are household names today in the film industry. It is interesting to note that they were all in the same batch and collaborated with each other on several projects. Now, aren’t these throwback pictures precious?
