One of the most celebrated films of last year without a shred of doubt was Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte starrer AndhaDhun directed by Sriram Raghavan. The film went on to reap accolades from critics as well as moolah at the box office. Now, the latest buzz is that Raghavan has zeroed down on his next film. The new film is going to be based on the 1961 French novel by Frederic Dard called Le Monte-Charge or Bird In A Cage.
A leading daily reported a source, “The opening of the story is similar to Badlapur, where a man returns from jail. But this time he is not seeking revenge. He is caught in a tale where a woman and her child ask him for help and she resembles his ladylove. But Sriram is someone who takes his time on a script. He has multiple ideas and he will make the one that he believes strongly in rather than what film studios want. Once he gets his idea in place, he will start casting and the actors need to believe in him and follow him blindly.”
Bird In A Cage’s plot revolves around 30-year-old Albert who returns to Paris after staying away for six years, during which his mother passes away. He finds himself mixed up in a complicated case centred on a woman whom he meets at a restaurant whose husband’s dead body appears in her lounge but mysteriously disappears.
