A while ago, reports of the iconic 90s song Shehar Ki Ladki being recreated for Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Sharma and Badshah starrer Khandaani Shafakhana made rounds of the media. The reports had it that Diana Penty will be stepping into the shoes of Raveena Tandon while Badshah will feature with her in the song. Now, in a recent development to this, fresh reports suggest both Raveena and Suniel Shetty, who grooved to the song in Rakshak will be joining Diana and Badshah for a special appearance in the remake version.
As per the new piece on an entertainment portal, the makers are planning to pitch in a nostalgia element in the song. Raveena and Suniel, upon hearing the idea seemed impressed and if things fall in place, the actors will shoot for the song soon. “The makers were quite keen on having the nostalgia element in the track and what better than having the original actors on whom the song was picturised on? Suniel sir and Raveena ma’am too are quite impressed with the idea. If all goes well, they will soon shoot for it,” a source close to the film told the daily.
Shehar Ki Ladki remake will to be shot inside a studio unlike a real location in the original film. “Unlike the original track, which was filmed outdoors—from a railway station to a bridge the modern-day rendition is a conventional party number in a pub," a report in a leading daily suggested. The remake version will include a rap sung by Badshah while Tulsi Kumar will lend her voice to Diana in the song.
Directed by Shilpi Dasgupta, Khandaani Shafakhana also features Varun Sharma and Badshah. Based in Punjab, the film shows the journey of Sonakshi's character as she inherits her dead uncle's sex clinic. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and Divya Khosla Kumar. It is scheduled to release on August 2.
