Mrunal Thakur rose to fame with her act in daily soap Kumkum Bhagya and made her Bollywood debut with the titular role in Love Sonia, a film about sex-trafficking. Now, she is awaiting the release of her upcoming film Super 30, where she plays Hrithik Roshan’s love interest. Sharing her excitement on working with Hrithik, Mrunal told a leading daily, “When I was auditioning for the role of Supriya, I didn’t know Hrithik was in the film. Four months later, I got to know it was him and the first thing that came to my mind was “Ik Pal Ka Jeena”. When asked what it was like being romanced by Hrithik, the actress quipped, “Nothing better than romancing the Greek God himself. I was a little under-confident initially, but Hrithik helped me with the scenes, which elevated my performance.”
For Super 30, Hrithik has slipped into the role of Patna-based mathematician Anand Kumar, who helps fulfil the dreams of a group of underprivileged children to become engineers and scientists. Talking about their prep for the film, Mrunal revealed that she attended workshops with Hrithik to get the dialect right apart from watching Bihari songs and films like Gangaajal. She further revealed that Hrithik would be portray a never-seen before avatar in the film and his transformation suprised her too.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Mrunal will be next be seen in Nikkhil Advani's Batla House co-starring John Abraham, based on the 2008 encounter against Indian Mujahideen terrorists in Delhi. When asked about her plans to return to television, she signed off by saying, “If I get an interesting script, why not? That’s where it all began."
Helmed by Vikas Bahl, Super 30 is slated to release on July 12.
