Reports suggesting Tamannaah Bhatia buying a sea view apartment in the heart of Mumbai made rounds a while ago. These rumours not just delighted people but stunned them and raised eyebrows, all thanks to the price tag attached to it. As per the reports, the actress paid a whopping Rs 80,778 per square feet- summing up to Rs.16.60 crores for a house in Versova, which is apparently double the current price for the area. Tamannaah, during an interview with a leading daily, opened up about the truth behind this news and dismissed it as false. The actress said although she has purchased a flat, it wasn't by paying an extra amount. She also added that her teacher also called her to ask about the same and after a while, it became embarrassing to give an explanation to people that there was no truth behind speculations.
"I’m Sindhi, how can I pay double the price for an apartment? After a while it became embarrassing as people kept asking about it. I have bought a house, but I did not pay double for it. My parents and I will move into it once the house is ready. I just want it to be a simple, artistic house with an earthy look," Tamannaah told the leading daily.

Tamannaah currently is residing with her family in her old flat in Lokhandwala complex. Workwise, Tamannaah will be seen with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Bole Chudiyan. Apart from that, she has been cast in the Tamil remake of Mahi V Raghav’s Anando Brahma and the Telugu remake of Kangana Ranaut’s Queen. Not just this, she will be seen with Chiranjeevi and Amitabh Bachchan in the period drama Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy where Chiranjeevi plays the role of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.
