'Arjun Reddy' aka Vijay Deverakonda isn't interested in watching Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh; Here's Why!

Shahid Kapoor-Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh, ever since its release, has made the adequate noise for the right as well as wrong reasons. The film is the remake of the Telugu superhit Arjun Reddy featuring Vijay Deverakonda in the titular role. Kabir Singh wasn't just subjected to slam for its violent and dark content but also for a scene to scene copy of Arjun Reddy and Shahid was compared to Vijay endlessly. Although there was nothing bitter between Shahid and Vijay as the latter wished the team of Kabir Singh before its release. However, when questioned about whether he watched the film or not, Vijay said he isn't interested in watching the film. During an interaction with media, Vijay said there is nothing new for him to watch as he has himself lived the life of Arjun Reddy which was later relived in Hindi by Shahid.

"Shahid has done that film, and he has gone through the character, and there is nothing for me to watch it again. I know the story, I have done that film, what will I watch again?," Vijay told media during the promotional rounds of his upcoming film Dear Comrade.

The actor further revealed that Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director of both the films was insisting him to watch Kabir Singh. Vijay also said he just wanted the Hindi version to become a hit considering his bond with Sandeep. "Kya Picture? Kya dekhenge? I wanted the Hindi film to be a big hit because Sandeep is my man. But unexpectedly, it became a blockbuster. Done. No more discussion there," Vijay added.

Speaking of Sandeep, the director landed into troubled water after making controversial remarks on love during an interview with an entertainment portal. He said, "When you are deeply in love and deeply connected to a woman (and vice versa), if you don't have the liberty of slapping each other, then I don't see anything there." Soon after, a huge uproar began on social media to which he released a clarification statement that his words were misinterpreted.
