After the mammoth success of Bahubali series, Prabhas, not just enjoys a great fan following down South but globally too. With his upcoming action thriller Saaho co-starring Shraddha Kapoor scheduled to release over the Independence Day weekend, fans had planned to take time out to bring in the holiday by hitting the screens to watch the film. But, unfortunately, it seems the plans are set to go kaput as reports of a leading daily suggest that the makers of this big-budget film have planned to push the release date by a good fifteen days. The reason stated by a source close to the film says stiff competition between multiple heavyweight releases on the same day forced the makers to take the decision.
The decision was reportedly taken after two Telugu biggies, namely the Sharwanand's Ranarangam's and Adivi Sesh's Evaru's release date was announced as August 15 a while ago. Apart from that, Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal and John Abraham's Batla House were potential threats to the box office collection of Saaho. After calculating these risks, the makers have finalised August 30 as the new release date as it gives the film an equal chance at performing well in theatres. An official confirmation regarding the change is awaited.
Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhas in a still from Saaho
This multi-star action film will see Prabhas' character have multiple layers to him whereas Shraddha will essay the role of a police officer. Apart from Prabhas and Shraddha, Saaho stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Arun Vijay, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey, Evelyn Sharma and Mandira Bedi in important roles. The film has been shot in three languages, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, simultaneously. It is presented by T-Series, produced by UV Creations and directed by Sujeeth.
