A while ago, we had reported that Mahesh Manjrekar's daughter Saiee Manjrekar has been cast opposite Salman Khan in Dabangg 3. Although back then, there was no official confirmation on the same but now, in an interview with a leading daily, Mahesh verified it and spoke about working with Saiee in her debut vehicle. A doting father to Saiee, Mahesh said it was an emotional moment to share screen space with her. The veteran also informed that he will be returning to the series as Sonakshi Sinha's alcoholic father Haria, who was done with in the first installment of the action drama. Considering Dabangg 3 is a prequel to the initial films, Mahesh along with Salman will be slipping into a younger avatar.
"I reprise my role of Haria. It's a cameo which is there to establish Chulbul's journey. I had one scene with Saiee and Salman, and it was wonderful to be in the same frame as my daughter. I felt proud and emotional," Mahesh told during the interview.

Addressing rumours of his elder daughter Ashwami making her debut with Dabangg 3, Mahesh said she never wanted to become an actress as she is a chef. He added that she assisted him on Viruddh in 2005 and has the potential to become a good director and not actor. "There were reports that my elder daughter Ashwami was in Dabangg 3, but she is a chef, and never wanted to be an actor. She assisted me for a while on Viruddh. She would have been a fantastic director, but she never wanted to be in films. Saiee has always wanted to be an actress," Mahesh added.
Dabangg 3 is a prequel film that traces Chulbul's journey from a kind-hearted goon in his 20s to become a Robin Hood cop in present times. The film, directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Arbaaz Khan, Salman Khan, Nikhil Dwivedi is scheduled to release on December 20, 2019. The principal shoot of the film began in April with the team flying to Indore. The first shot of the film took place in Mandleshwar and Maheshwar. Apart from Salman and Mahesh, Dabangg 3 stars Sonakshi as Rajjo and Kannada star Sudeep in important roles. Not just Saiee, but late Vinod Khanna's brother Pramod Khanna will step into the shoes of Salman's father onscreen.
