‘This story is about these ladies who employed simple home science theories to reach Mars’, says Akshay Kumar on the techniques employed by ISRO women scientists on Mars Orbiter Mission

The Mars Orbiter Mission is one of the most successful space missions and a very proud moment for India as the orbiter was sent to the red planet in first attempt. The credit for such a successful mission goes to the women scientists who employed simple and everyday theories to ensure that the orbiter reaches its destination. Today, at the trailer launch of the film Mission Mangal that is based on this stupendous feat, Akshay Kumar reiterated the fact that films like these are very important as they instill the thirst of knowledge and experiment in children. He also applauded the ISRO women scientists who employed common sense to successfully launch the MOM.

Talking about the film Mission Mangal, Akshay said, “I’m very proud to say this that this is India’s first space film and I would request everyone that please apne bacchon ko zaroor dikhana. Yeh ek aisi film hai jo majboor kar deti hai sochne ke liye, jo experiment ki baat karti hai. Chahe aap koi bhi field mein jaye lekin aapko yeh pata chalega ki ek insaan ko sochna bahut zaroori hota hai. Thinking has a great power. Ek choti si baat hai puri talte hue ek idea aaya ki home science ki technique se hum Mars par ja sakte hain. Waise hi ek aur idea aata hai agar aapne dekha hoga ki Vidya (Balan) ek sling ghuma rahi hai that is called slingshot theory. Woh slingshot theory leke hum Mars par gaye. Yeh choti choti home science ki theory hai, yeh kahani hai in ladies ki jo jis hisab se inhone socha kya kar sakte hain, kaise kar sakte hain aur yeh sacchi kahani hai. And jo ISRO ne kamal kar dikhaya hai uska koi mol nahi hai.”
