There were days when I thought Super 30 will never work: Hrithik Roshan reveals his apprehensions about the film

Hrithik Roshan's recently released superhit film Super 30 is a classic example of content is the real king. The fiction tale of a math wizard Anand Kumar struck the right chord with the audience that six State Governments of India were compelled to declare it tax-free at the merit of its powerful narrative. Although, ever since the film's trailer was launched we were sure of this film to score big at the box office but, this wasn't the belief that Hrithik seconded. The actor, during an interview with a leading daily, spoke about his apprehensions surrounding the film and said he felt it won't perform well.

"There were days when I thought this film will never work and that maybe others were right while I had gone wrong. But at the same time, I felt a germ in the film, and I knew I wouldn't let go of that. One word that I attach myself a lot with is resilience. So, when things aren't going right and there are disappointments, I get even more resilient and instinctively stronger. So, yes, there were days when I was like, 'yeh picture toh gayi'. But in such situations, I get more resilient and keep building on that," Hrithik told.

Hrithik, who returned to the big screens after a break of two years said the performance of Super 30 has reaffirmed his instinct and it will now keep the actor within him encouraged. "It does the most important thing - reaffirms your instincts and processes. With that, you feel satisfied. There's also a feeling of vindication. Actually, success does a lot of things. It is not just about box-office numbers, the appreciation and encouragement that the actor inside me is getting, makes me feel that I was right and my instincts worked. And that’s a very important emotion," Hrithik added.

Super 30 released in theatres on July 12. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the film also features Mrunal Thakur, Amit Sadh, Pankaj Tripathy, and Johnny Lever along with Hrithik. The film is based on Math wizard Anand Kumar, who took it upon himself to educate underprivileged students of rural Uttar Pradesh and started the initiative named Super 30 in Patna. Under the initiative, Anand trains 30 children to clear the IIT JEE exam with flying colours.
