Varun Dhawan is a man of solid wit and great comic timing. The actor, who has established himself as a bankable talent with put-an-out comics, is all set to return to the screen with a film of the genre through Coolie No.1. Directed by his father, David Dhawan, Coolie No. 1 is the remake of the film by the same name back in the 90s. Varun, soon after wrapping the shoot of his dance-based film Street Dancer 3D, has gotten back to business as he kickstarts preparing for Coolie No.1 co-starring Sara Ali Khan. Varun, on his hugely followed Instagram account, shared a video where he can be seen trying out different looks. Varun along with the team of the team will be jetting off to Bangkok to start shooting on August 5, 2019.
In the video, Varun is seen replicating the iconic 'Aye bhai' dialogue from the original film starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. He, hilariously tries out different looks, including one of a clown and mustache half-shaven. “Arre bhai, yeh log daadhi manaa rahen hain. Galaa sambhal ke bhai. Aap se dikha rahen hai ki shaving kaise hoti hai. Aye bhai, meri aadhi mooch ko kaat,” Varun is heard saying.
Speaking of the film, Sara Ali Khan will be stepping into Karisma Kapoor's shoes while Paresh Rawal will replace Kader Khan. Johnny Lever has been roped to fill in Tiku Talsania's role. Directed by David, the film is scheduled to release on May 1, 2020. Talking about the remake, David said, "I want to make a film people can see again and again. Also, Varun and Sara are a fresh pair."
