Alia Bhatt is all set to play the female lead in father Mahesh Bhatt's upcoming directorial, Sadak 2, which also stars Pooja Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt, Jisshu Sengupta, Priyanka Bose and Akshay Anand. Sadak 2 is sequel to the hit 1991 film Sadak, a romantic thriller, which featured Pooja and Sanjay. It was one of the highest-grossing Hindi movie of 1991 with a popular musical score.
Now accroding to a report in a leading daily, Bengali actor Jisshu, who was last seen in with Kangana Ranaut in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, will be seen as Alia's father in Sadak 2. The actor is currently shooting for the film in Ooty with Alia and is all praises for his onscreen daughter. "Alia’s passion for her craft is commendable. Her heart is in her work and she is amongst the finest actors we have in Indian cinema today," the daily quoted him as saying.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Jisshu is also doing a Telugu film titled Ashwathama, apart from Sadak 2. When asked what kind of films does he see himself doing in Hindi cinema, Jisshu quipped, “Content-driven, with challenging roles and subjects that excite me as an actor."
Coming back to Sadak 2, the film will see Mahesh Bhatt's return to the director's chair after almost two decades. It will hit the theatres on July 10, next year.
