Bhumi Pednekar met her youngest fan on the sets of Saand Ki Aankh and also organized a birthday celebration for this girl named Samreen. Bhumi threw this small party in her own vanity and called the entire set to join in.
Bhumi said, “There are these group children from the village and one of them is this little girl Samreen who was one of the featured extras in one of the scenes. So when we were shooting that scene only we kind of bonded and connected. She used to play with me and I kept calling her on sets. She then started getting more children (her friends).”
Bhumi added, “She is from a very underprivileged family. So, you don’t get to know a child’s class or status as all look alike but when I went and checked up on her family, she came from a very underprivileged background. I ended up chilling with this kid a lot, she used to regularly come to my van, watch TV – it was the first time she saw a TV that big. One day I asked her when is your birthday and she said she doesn’t know and that came as a very big shock to me because how can you not know your birthday. And there was this other kid’s birthday which was around the corner and her family had made some plans to do some celebrations. That made me want to do something for Samreen – I wanted to throw a small party with a cake and called all her friends. She was super excited with the candle blowing, cake cutting and her friends singing for her.”
