‘Aaj unhi thokron ki khatir mere haq mein Rashtriya Puraskar hai’, writes Ayushmann Khurrana in an emotional poem on winning National Award for ‘AndhaDhun’

Ayushmann Khurrana has finally got the fruits of his labour. He won the Best Actor for his film AndhaDhun at the 66th National Film Awards announced yesterday. The actor got emotional on winning the coveted award and expressed his gratitude through a heartfelt poem that he shared on social media today. In the poem the talented actor wrote about his initial struggles and reminisced about how he came to Mumbai with starry dreams but with no bank balance.

In the poem, written in Hindi, Ayushmann talks about how it was the monsoons when he arrived in Mumbai, traveling in the sleeper class of a train. He adds that he has had many dreams as the teeming millions in the city. His parents were worried sick for him even then and are so even today. He further wrote about his struggles and how he did not let failures break his dreams and his back and because of those failures he has today bagged a National Award.
