Shah Rukh Khan is hands down amongst the best actors Indian cinema has ever given to the world. With 27 years of excellence in acting and great storytelling, Shah Rukh has truly established himself as the deserving King Khan of Bollywood. Although his last few films like Jab Harry Met Sejal and Zero tanked at the box office, one can't forget all those beautiful narratives he has been a part of. Speaking on this topic, Shah Rukh, who is currently in Melbourne to attend the Indian Film Festival Of Melbourne 2019, said he still has a huge capacity to do some great cinema and believes he has another 20-25 years of good cinema in him.
''What drives me to do a film is I think the people around me who make such a great cinema... And I think I have a huge amount of capacity to do some really good cinema. I have 20-25 years of good cinema left in me," Shah Rukh told while interacting with media at the festival.
Agreeing to the fact his recent films performed poorly, he remained optimistic and said he is enjoying a little bit of un-success after years of success. ''I just finished the last film I made and to put it lightly it was a disaster. I said to myself that let me enjoy a little bit of un-success as I had success for so long. So I have taken some time off for next four or five months. As a matter of fact, I'm on these breaks, coming here (Melbourne) and meeting people, realising and discovering new stories, doing intellectual speaking,'' Shah Rukh added.
Shah Rukh, at the IIFM 2019, received an award for Excellence in Cinema and opened the festival on August 9. Apart from that, during his Melbourne tour, As a part of his trip, he was conferred by a Melbourne based La Trobe University with an Honorary Degree, Doctor of Letters (honoris causa), in recognition of his efforts to support underprivileged children, fight for women's empowerment through MEER Foundation and his achievements in the Indian entertainment industry.
