All India Cine Workers Association bans Mika Singh following his performance in Karachi for Pervez Musharraf's relative

On August 8, singer Mika Singh and his troupe reportedly performed in Pakistan's Karachi at a family event of a billionaire, who is said to be a close relative of former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf. As per reports, Mika charged a staggering USD 150,000 (Rs 1.06 crore) for the gig. However, as soon as the video of his performance went viral on social media, the netizens started bashing Mika left, right and center. Now adding to Mika's troubles, All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has banned and boycotted him from film production houses, music companies and online music content providers. The film body, in a statement released on Tuesday, said that it will “make sure” no one in India works with Mika and that anyone who violates their will face “legal consequences.”

The statement, released by AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, further condemned the singer for putting his profession above the national pride amid the ongoing the tension between India and Pakistan. The association has also requested the Ministry for Information and Broadcasting to intervene in the matter and act legally against Mika.

Not to forget, Mika's performance comes at a time when relations between India and Pakistan are on a low following the scrapping of Article 370 and the earlier Pulwama attacks.
