Deepika Padukone known for her iconic roles in Padmaavat, Ram Leela, and Bajirao Mastani, is extremely picky when it comes to selecting scripts. One of the highest-paid actresses in Bollywood has been on a rejection spree lately. Recently, sources close to the actress revealed that DP is currently enjoying her line of future films like Chhapaak and '83 and is in no hurry to pick scripts which do not amaze her. 

The source mentioned, “Deepika is enjoying her time doing the films that she likes to do. She is currently in no hurry to add more films to her filmography. She has been hearing a few scripts, but nothing has caught her interest by far.” According to the source, "The actress has been reading scripts of some web series and seems to have liked a few of them. There have also been rumours going around for a while that Deepika is about to make a film with Ranbir Kapoor but there has not been any formal announcement about the same."

The actress will next be seen playing not one but two real-life characters - one in Chhapaak which is a biopic on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, and the other in’83 where she will play Romi Dev (Kapil Dev’s wife) opposite her husband Ranveer Singh. Both these films are slated to release during the next year and interestingly, both the characters Laxmi Agarwal and Romi Dev have a heavy background behind them, making it a year of promising portrayals by the actress. Deepika was last seen in Padmaavat in January 2018.
