Ever since filmmaker Luv Ranjan announced his next film with Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor, fans have been waiting to see the two actors collaborate for the film. However, even after 15 months, the project is yet to go on floors with no official announcement being made about the leading daily. While we were the first ones to inform you that it would be Deepika Padukone who would frontline the film, the actress' recent statement in an interview that she would not work with anyone accused of #MeToo, stated otherwise. Not to forget, director Luv was accused of the same, last year. 

In fact, ever since then, speculations have been rife that DP was no longer a part of filmmaker Luv's forthcoming film. However, as per trade sources, the rumours are nothing but false as Deepika is very much a part of the film. Reportedly, Luv and his team are working round the clock on the pre-production of the film, which they intend to take on the floors by January next year. Although an official announcement is awaited, we guess this bit of information will put all the rumours to rest.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika was last seen in Padmaavat in January 2018. She will next be seen playing not one but two real-life characters - one in Chhapaak which is a biopic on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, and the other in’83 where she will play Romi Dev (Kapil Dev’s wife) opposite her husband Ranveer Singh. Both these films are slated to release during the next year and interestingly, both the characters Laxmi Agarwal and Romi Dev have a heavy background behind them, making it a year of promising portrayals by the actress.
