John Abraham, with Batla House, has given yet another riveting and exceptional narrative to the archives of Indian cinema. The film, which is based on the alleged encounter at Batla House in Delhi in 2008 has gone ahead to win the hearts of the audience and the critics alike and the box-office numbers are proof. As the footfall in theatres to watch the film is multiplying, so are the compliments for the lead actors and John and Mrunal Thakur along with the director Nikkhil Advani. Batla House, despite the stiff competition against Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan starrer Mission Mangal, has earned a massive amount at the box office. John and Akshay are known to be best friends in the industry and have refused rumours of a tiff over clash previously and now, as John gave an interview to a leading daily, their bond of friendship was out for display.
During the interview, John said after he sent a congratulatory text to Akshay on Mission Mangal, he, in response replied by saying he was happy for the former too and told it's time to do a film together. "I am happy for you too. It's time we work together," said Akshay to John.

Adding further about Batla House vs Mission Mangal competition, John said, "It's so nice and healthy when the camaraderie is not competitive but healthy. Both films are being appreciated. People are loving every moment of it." John and Akshay were seen together in Desi Boyz and Housefull 2. After that, the two haven't collaborated for any venture to date. Also, this isn't the first time when it's Akshay vs John as in 2018 Gold and Satyamev Jayate were pitted opposite each other.
Batla House, apart from John and Mrunal stars Ravi Kishan in pivotal roles. On the other hand, Mission Mangal features Vidya, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menen and Sharman Joshi with Akshay.
