Kajal Aggarwal to play the female lead opposite John Abraham in Sanjay Gupta's 'Mumbai Saga'

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta's upcoming gangster drama Mumbai Saga features John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi as leads with Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Rohit Roy, Samir Soni Amole Gupte and Prateik Babbarr in key roles. Now according to a report in a leading daily, the gangster drama set in the eighties and the nineties will star South beauty Kajal Aggarwal as the female lead opposite John.

Talking about roping in Kajal for the film, Sanjay told the daily, "The most important thing is that my gangster films often also have strong female characters. This character starts off as John’s girlfriend, then becomes his wife," adding, "I needed an actress who could play a 17-year-old college girl, a young wife and then, a strong woman in her 30s. I’m an admirer of Kajal’s work, she looks lovely and has a great screen presence. I’m glad we’re collaborating on this film."

This would be the first time that John is pairing up with Kajal and it would be interesting to see their onscreen chemistry.

On the other hand, Emraan will have no heroine in the film. “There have been a lot of rumours and reports around his love interest in the film. But there’s no girl with Emraan. There is Anjana Sukhani, but she’s playing one of the characters. Kajal is the female lead. In keeping with her character graph, she will have three looks in the film," Sanjay signed off by saying.

The film, which went on floors on Tuesday, is releasing on June 19, 2020.
