A complaint was filed against Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and his bodyguard Shera for allegedly misbehaving with a cameraman who claimed he was attacked by the duo on April 25, 2019. It was filed at DN Nagar Police Station by a man claiming to be a media photographer who clicked Salman while he was cycling in Juhu. Salman, who is known to follow a strict fitness routine, is usually photographed cycling along with his bodyguards in the city.
Recent reports stated that the Andheri court magistrate reportedly ordered an inquiry against actor Salman Khan in the case of misconduct against the Journalist. This comes months after the scribe moved court seeking registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against the Bollywood star and his bodyguards for allegedly assaulting him even after he allegedly sought permission to click photos and videos of the actor who was riding a bicycle.
Now a source close to the development has clarified that Mumbai court has asked the police to investigate and submit the report in Salman Khan case. The source shared, "The police didn’t file the FIR so he went to court asking for a FIR to be filed. Court didn’t permit that. Only asked the police to investigate and submit a report. It’s section 202 order. There is a counter/cross complain as well".
The development comes months after the journalist, Ashok Pandey, moved court seeking registration of FIR against Salman and his bodyguards, who have allegedly assaulted him despite him seeking permission to click his photos on his mobile phone who was on a bicycle.
The incident took place on April 24, when Salman Khan was riding a bicycle during which he was escorted by two of his bodyguards. Pandey told the daily that he was riding a car when he saw Khan. On spotting him, Pandey started filming him after seeking permission from Khan’s bodyguard. He stated that this enraged Salman and his bodyguards came to his car and started thrashing Pandey. Pandey also alleged that Salman too assaulted him and threatened him of dire consequences. That is when Pandey approached the cops, they refused to register his complaint. The police claimed that no crime was committed. Due to which, Pandey approached the Andheri Metropolitan court and sought registration of FIR against Salman Khan and his bodyguards. In an earlier PTI report, it was stated that Pandey demanded the trio be booked under section 323 (causing hurt), section 392 (robbery), section 506 (criminal intimidation), section 426 (mischief) and section 34 (common intention) of the IPC.
