It was a happy happy birthday for Akshay Kumar, who turned 52 on Monday. The actor, who is currently on a mini birthday getaway with his family, celebrated his birthday in a slightly different manner this year. Instead of receiving gifts and wishes from fans, Akshay himself woke up the nation and his fans to a surprise by announcing his next film titled Prithviraj. This historical film will be produced by Yash Raj Films and will be directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who directed the TV show Chanakya. As a part of the announcement, Akshay shared the first teaser of the film based on the life of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan.
In the teaser, we can see Akshay soar high as he is riding a horse amidst a battleground. With Rajput warriors ready to face the opponents, the teaser of Prithviraj builds up the curiosity. Prithviraj marks Akshay's first historical drama. Watch the teaser here:
Speaking of Prithviraj, the film will trace the story of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan who stood strong and battled against Muhammad of Ghor and his ruthless invaders of India. With his bravery and valour, the warrior attained the status of a legendary ruler and fighter of free India. The film is scheduled to release on Diwali 2020.
