Priyanka Chopra Jonas, with her film choices and great acting talent, rightfully acquired the title of a global superstar. The actress conquered the world with her struggle and efforts, without the backing of any filmi family connection. Started off as winner of Miss World in 2000, the Barfi actress didn't get success at the blink of an eyelid. It was sheer talent and hard work that has finally paid off with Priyanka becoming an inspiration for women and a favourite amongst filmmakers. But this wasn't the scenario a while ago. The actress, in an interview for a magazine, revealed that during the initial stage of her career, directors would yell at her and even throw her out of films, considering she didn't belong to an influential filmi family. However, over a period of time, she grew confident of herself and allowed failures to teach her important life lessons to success.
“I didn’t know anything or anyone. I was yelled at by directors, I was thrown into movies, I was thrown out of movies. The more you talk, the less you will listen and the less you will learn’...I taught myself confidence. I learnt it’s what you do after failure that makes you a success,” Priyanka told during the interview.
Travelling a little behind in time to 2018, the actress being thrown from films was disclosed in her biography titled Priyanka Chopra: A Dark Horse written by Bharathi S Pradhan, who revealed that the actress had lost out on the first few projects after her nose job went wrong. Anil Sharma, with whom Priyanka worked in the film Hero: Love Story Of A Spy mentioned that he reprimanded the actress for the surgery, which left her and her mother emotional. “When I looked at her, I burst out angrily and asked her, ‘Where was the need to do all this?’ Mother and daughter got very emotional at this meeting and they explained that she’d had surgery done, it would take six to seven months for the nose to heal. Since she’d been dropped from three or four other films, they were going back to Bareilly and they returned my cheque to me. Yes, that was a very dignified thing to do. They were very decent, cultured people,” Anil told.
Workwise, Priyanka is gearing up for the premiere of her upcoming film The Sky Is Pink at Toronto International Film Festival on September 13, 2019. The film directed by Shonali Bose, apart from Priyanka stars Farhan Akhtar, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf. The Sky Is Pink will release at theatres on October 11, 2019.
