Ayushmann Khurrana is currently witnessing the best phase of his career in Bollywood. With a National Award to his credit, the actor is rightfully becoming filmmakers' favourite, all thanks to his natural acting talent and great films. Ayushmann, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Dream Girl, co-starring Nushrat Bharucha, has an interesting lineup of films in the near future including one with Amitabh Bachchan titled Gulabo Sitabo. The team of the film wrapped the shoot in the month of August. As we all know that Ayushmann considers Amitabh to be his idol, it is nothing short of a dream coming true for the AndhaDhun actor. During an interview with a leading daily, while promoting Dream Girl, Ayushmann opened up about the experience of working with the veteran. Calling him an institution and a living legend, Ayushmann revealed that Amitabh is very collaborative on sets and comes prepared with everything, including the fellow artist's lines too.
"I had met him socially but on the sets, it was very different. He comes really prepared with everything. He knows your lines also. He’s an institution, he’s a living legend. Thankfully, he is that co-actor who’s very collaborative. So, the butterflies were gone when I met him on the set," Ayushmann told.

Gulabo Sitabo refers to a legendary pair of puppet sisters and a part of Uttar Pradesh's folklore. The film is apparently a takeoff on these two characters and will narrate the love-hate relationship between a tenant and his landlord. The film directed by Shoojit Sircar has been primarily shot in Lucknow and shall release on April 24, 2020.
Speaking of Dream Girl, Ayushmann plays the role of a small-town guy who disguises himself as a female for a radio show and rechristens himself as Pooja. Nushrat is Ayushmann's love interest. The film is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and produced by Ekta Kapoor under the banner Balaji Motion Pictures. It is scheduled to release on September 13, 2019.
