Aamir Khan to film 'Laal Singh Chaddha' at 100 different real locations from November 1, 2019?

After Thugs of Hindostan, which tanked at the box-office, Aamir Khan is all set to star in Laal Singh Chaddha, which is the Hindi remake of Tom Hanks' 1994 classic Forrest Gump. Produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom18 Motion Pictures, the film, which is expected to go on the floors in October, is written by Atul Kulkarni and will be helmed by Secret Superstar director Advait Chandan. Aamir had announced the project on his birthday in March and said he would be losing around 20 kgs for his role in Laal Singh Chaddha. He also shared that he would be sporting a turban for some segments of the film. And now we hear the Dangal star will shoot at 100 different real locations across the country for the film starting November 1, 2019.

“The script demands Aamir to showcase the journey of his life and that will need him to be in different locations each time. The actor does not believe in studio set-ups, and has asked his team to scout 100 locations across the country where they can shoot. Apart from Delhi, Gujarat, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, there will also be several states where Aamir will shoot for the first time. This way, he will also explore the country," a leading daily quoted a source as saying.

Apparently, Aamir's age in the project will span from his childhood to the 50s. Hence, the makers are keen to share memories with different people at varied places. “Hundred locations for any Hindi film is happening for the first time, and Aamir wants to show it in the best way possible. The process has already started and for the next one-and-a-half months, he will be engaged in finalising locations. He will start shooting for it from November 1,” confirmed the source.

Forrest Gump, directed by Robert Zemeckis, is based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel of the same name. It follows the life of Forrest Gump, a big-hearted man from Alabama, who witnesses and influences several historical events in the 20th century in the US. The film went on to win six Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor for Hanks.

Coming back to Laal Singh Chaddha, it also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan as the female lead and is slated to release around Christmas in 2020. It will clash with Akshay Kumar's Bachchan Pandey at the box-office.
