Bhumi Pednekar and Neha Dhupia excited about Emmy nomination for 'Lust Stories'; Surveen Chawla and Kubbra Sait ecstatic for 'Sacred Games 2'

Netflix anthology Lust Stories has been nominated for the International Emmy Awards 2019. Celebrated filmmakers Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar collaborated for the anthology film for Netflix. The actress calls it a gem of a project in her career, "Lust Stories was and will always be a special project for me. I was honoured to collaborate with one of the best voices of the Indian film industry, Zoya Akhtar, and I'm thrilled to have brought her vision to life." She credits Lust Stories for making her a better actor. "Lust Stories is a gem of a film in my career as an actor and it shaped me to become better at my craft. So, it's a hugely proud moment for me that I was a part of a disruptive film that is making India proud globally," she told a news agency.

Actress Neha Dhupia, who was also part of it, says she is super excited. "I am super excited! I can't thank Karan Johar enough for making me a part of it," said Neha, who played a character named Rekha in the segment directed by Karan Johar in the anthology film having four short stories. The Johar segment starred Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani.

On the other hand, Surveen Chawla is over the moon as the second season of Sacred Games has been nominated in the best drama category at the International Emmy Awards 2019. "This is truly a benchmark. Getting nominated for such a prestigious award with global recognition is the result of all the hardwork each and every person associated with the show has put in. It's an amazing feeling and I am elated to be a part of this whirlwind journey," Surveen said. The second season of Sacred Games, starring Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, among others, has been nominated in the best drama category alongside Brazil's Contra Todos -- Season 3, Germany's Bad Banks and the UK's McMafia, which also features Siddiqui in a key role.

Meanwhile, Kubbra Sait, who featured in season one of the show, is both humbled and excited. "Sacred Games is a breakthrough show amongst the global audience, and being nominated for this global phenomenon at the International Emmys is a result of all the hard work the entire cast and crew have put in. This show has a fanbase of its own and it is absolutely exhilarating that it has touched soaring heights. I am humbled and excited in the same breath," Kubbra said.

Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Ghaywan directed the second season of Sacred Games while Vikramaditya Motwane served as the showrunner.

The 47th edition of International Emmy Awards will take place in New York on November 25.
