Shahid Kapoor's recently released film Kabir Singh drew equal appreciation and criticism. The film, on one hand, was hailed as one of the best of the year while a couple of them slammed it for violent and misogynistic content. Shahid, who played the titular role, received flak for glorifying substance abuse and violence against his love Preeti played by Kiara Advani. Amidst all the controversy, there was a person who was clearly fascinated by Kabir and that was none other than Shahid's wife Mira Rajput, who apparently encouraged the actor to take up a flawed and dark character like Kabir. Well, yes. Shahid, during an interview at a media event, said that it was Mira who first told him to do the film as she was fascinated by the character's crazy nature.
"You know who told me to do this film before anybody else did? My wife. 'You have to play this character. He is a crazy character. I am so fascinated by this character.' She loved the film. She loved the fact that this guy was so flawed, yet he could love so truly," Shahid told during the interview.
