Ayushmann Khurrana's and Nushrat Bharucha's Dream Girl, although has been enjoying a blockbuster run at the box-office, has unfortunately landed into troubled waters with regards to its promotional song Dhagala Lagali, featuring Riteish Deshmukh with Ayushmann and Nushrat. The song, which is a remix version of Dada Konde's iconic number of the same name from the Marathi film Bot Lavin Tithe Gudgulya, has faced certain issues raised by the Delhi High Court under the copyright law, if reports are to be believed. Owing to the legal trouble, the makers of the film have pulled down the song from all video streaming platforms.
As per the report, Delhi High Court has imposed restrictions on the makers of the film for using any part or segment of the original song. A petition for withdrawal of the song was filed by Saregama India, who owns the copyright of the original track. Considering all the factors, Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw gave the final verdict and the remix version was erased from all possible platforms. However, there are no official traces of the song but it is still available in pirated versions.
Dhagala Lagali remix version had vocals by Jyotica Tangri and Mika Singh. It was recreated by Meet Bros. Speaking of Dream Girl, the film stars Ayushmann in the role of a small-town guy who disguises himself as a female for a radio show and rechristens himself as Pooja. Nushrat is Ayushmann's love interest. The film is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and produced by Ekta Kapoor under the banner Balaji Motion Pictures. The film released on September 13, 2019, and has crossed the 100 crore mark at the box-office.
