R Madhavan is a proud father and he has never shied away from showcasing his son Vedaant Madhavan's noteworthy achievements as a swimmer. The actor, time and again, after his teenage son bags a medal or accolade, makes it a point to share his joy with his fans through social media. And now, on Thursday, Madhavan, on his Instagram account, informed that Vedaant has secured a silver medal for the country at the Asian Age Group Championships for 4x100m freestyle relay swimming. The Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein star also told that it is the fourteen-year-old lad's first official medal while representing the nation.
"India gets her Silver medal at the Asian Games. Gods grace .. Vedaants first official medal representing India," Madhavan wrote on his Instagram account while sharing a picture of the team of swimmers to which Vedaant belongs to.
Vedaant, as per reports of a leading daily, completed the 4x100m freestyle relay in 55.27 seconds and the team comprising of four, secured a second silver medal at swimming in a total time of 3:41.49 seconds. The first silver was achieved by the women swimming team in 4:00.76 seconds. The championship took place on Tuesday in Bengaluru.
Speaking of Madhavan, the actor is currently shooting for Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, said to release during Summer 2020. In the film, he will be playing the role of Nambi Narayanan, an Indian Scientist in charge of the cryogenics division with the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) and was a pioneer in the space mission programme till 2001.
