'Sridevi will forever remain my most favourite icon,' says Kajol on penning foreword of late actress' biography

The sudden passing away of legendary actress and the first female superstar of the nation late Sridevi came across as a major shock to cine industry as well as her fans and but obviously her family. The actress, known to be an inspiration to millions of young girls, although isn't a part of us now, her indelible mark in the film industry continues to shine brightly and in order to take forward her legacy and delve deeper into her life, author and screenwriter Satyarth Nayak, with Penguin Books, a leading publication company, announced to dedicate a book titled Sridevi: The Eternal Screen Goddess, to her as a tribute. The book was announced on the late actress' 56th birthday on August 13. And as per the latest development on the book, Kajol, in fond memory of Sridevi, has penned a foreword.

Kajol, during an interview with a leading daily, told that she has grown up watching late Sridevi's films. She further confessed that the Chandni actress is her favourite icon and expressed her gratitude towards the publication house for allowing her to give her inputs in the form of a foreword. "I have grown up watching Sridevi’s superstardom on film-sets and her magic on the big screen. She is an institution of acting and will forever remain my most favourite icon. So happy Penguin gave me this opportunity to write this foreword," Kajol told.

Initially titled Sridevi: Girl Woman Superstar, the book cover was unveiled by Vidya Balan and has been approved by actress' husband Boney Kapoor. Sridevi: The Eternal Screen Goddess is said to be out on the stands in November this year.

Sridevi left for her heavenly abode in February 2018 in Dubai, where she attended her nephew Mohit Marwah's wedding. As per medical reports, the actress died after accidentally drowning in a bathtub of a hotel. She is survived by her husband Boney and two daughters Janhvi Kapoor, an actress and Khushi Kapoor.
