Late Yash Chopra, with his extensive and memorable films, left behind a legacy to count on. The veteran filmmaker, who began his career as a director with Dhool Ka Phool in 1959, went on to give some classics and cult films including Chandni, Deewar, Kabhie Kabhie to Darr, Dil Toh Pagal Hai. With Jab Tak Hai Jaan marking his last project, Yashji left his permanent mark in the industry for years to come. And today, as we all remember him on his 87th birth anniversary, Bollywood celebrities took an opportunity and paid him a tribute. From Karan Johar to Anushka Sharma and Ayushmann Khurrana, B-Town recollected his fond memories in the film industry.
Karan, who is Yashji's nephew(mom Hiroo Johar's brother) shared a throwback video with the veteran and said his uncle will always remain to be his source of inspiration. "Yash uncles birthday today! He will always remain my hugest inspiration and am honoured to have been fathered by him in cinema and in life...sharing an in conversation I had with him many years ago about my all time favourite film LAMHE," Karan wrote.

Anushka, who got the lucky opportunity to be directed by the late ace filmmaker in his last, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, shared a BTS picture from the shoot and called the picture and him 'timeless'.
Ayushmann, on Twitter, calling Yashji a pioneer, paid a tribute by remembering his fond memories. "A legend who created many masterpieces that have a special place in our hearts! Honouring the pioneer of the Indian film industry - #YashChopra ji on his birth anniversary," Ayushmann wrote.

Arjun Kapoor thanked the late filmmaker for sowing seeds of cinema and touching several hearts with his films. "Remembering the cinematic genius, #YashChopra Ji on his birth anniversary. Thank you for sowing the seeds of cinephilia and for giving us such beautiful films, that has touched generations. We Love you & miss you," Arjun wrote.

Parineeti Chopra, who, before embarking on the acting journey, worked with Yash Raj Films as an employee. She recalled fond memories of Yashji calling her at 7am in the morning after watching her films and also mentioned about enjoying aloo paranthas with him. "One of my life’s privileges was eating aloo parathas with Yashji regularly when I was his employee at YRF Then I became his actor and would look forward to his 7am phonecalls after he watched my movies WHAT a blessing.Miss you #Yashji.There will never be another like you," narrated Parineeti.

Yashji breathed his last on October 21, 2012, after suffering from dengue.
