Ever since the upcoming horror comedy film Laxmmi Bomb, starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in the lead roles was announced, the excitement among cine enthusiasts and fans of the actors shot to the highest peak. The official Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Kanchana, Laxmmi Bomb is directed by Raghava Lawrence, who starred and helmed the original four-film franchise. And as the film is still under the making, Akshay, on Thursday, dropped in a major delightful yet haunting surprise for his fans on Instagram. The actor, considering the ongoing festival of Navratri, shared his first look from the film as Laxmmi, a transgender.
In the look that Akshay shared, we can see him put forth a fierce, sharp yet scary face. Dressed as a woman, standing before Goddess Durga's idol inside a temple, the actor has surely upped the anticipation. For those caught unaware, Akshay in Laxmmi Bomb gets possessed by a transgender ghost, who is out on an act of revenge against those who murdered her. "Navratri is about bowing to the inner goddess and celebrating your limitless strength. On this auspicious occasion, I am sharing with you my look as Laxmmi. A character I am both excited and nervous about... but then life begins at the end of our comfort zone... isn’t it?" Akshay wrote while sharing the look.
Amitabh Bachchan is said to be the transgender ghost. The film is scheduled to release on May 22, 2020. Laxmmi Bomb is being directed by Raghava and produced by Cape of Good Films, Fox Star Studios, Tusshar Kapoor and Shabina Khan.
Speaking of the Muni or Kanchana series, the first part of the four films released in 2007 and the lead role was played by Raghava. Muni 2: Kanchana formed the second film and was released four years later. The third part Kanchana 2 and the final one titled Kanchana 3 released in 2015 and 2019 respectively.
