Deepika Padukone is a bonafide star and there ain't a denial. The actress who started off her Bollywood career with Om Shanti Om, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan in 2007, has come a long way now. In these thirteen years in cinema, Deepika is undoubtedly credited to some masterpieces like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Piku, Bajirao Mastani to name a few. Not just this, she left her sparkles back in Hollywood by starring with Vin Diesel's XXX: Return of Xander Cage two years ago. With such a great career graph, Deepika stands tall in Bollywood as one of the highest-paid actresses in the current time. While her fans are proud of this fact, it seems the Cocktail actress isn't too happy with it. During an interview with a magazine, Deepika told that she isn't comfortable talking about the amount of money she earns. She further added that being called one of the highest-paid actresses makes her feel guilty as it increases the burden on a film, which is far more important than any other element.
"It's not in my DNA to talk about where I live and how much money I earn. But I'm also conflicted. Because I understand that today it is necessary to have these conversations. So how does it feel? A part of me feels guilty, because I think it's important to put the film before any of this. I've become a producer now, so I understand this slightly better - I think it's time the men thought about not taking so much money upfront and burdening the film. On the other hand, there are people who deliver those numbers at the box office. I'm going to have various conversations about this because I don't think there's one solution. It's tricky," Deepika told during the interview.
