Ever since the upcoming comedy Bala was announced, the anticipation surrounding the project shot up high. With a stellar cast including Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam portraying central characters, fans of the actors were sent into a zone of excitement to watch them venture into a new territory of quirky films. And as Bala inches closer to its theatrical release, the makers on Friday, released the first song titled Don't Be Shy. The song brings together all the central characters and has an upbeat, foot-tapping and engaging music. Don't Be Shy, apart from Ayushmann, Yami and Bhumi features rapper Badshah in a cameo.
Speaking of the song, Ayushmann, who is suffering from premature balding, makes an attempt to woo Bhumi and Yami by sporting a wig. Soon, he breaks into a jig with the former as Badshah's rap lyrics support the scenario. A while later, Yami enters into the scene and Ayushmann falls for her, leaving Bhumi alone. However, this merry time is short-lived as Ayushmann's fake wig falls apart, unveiling his true identity. As the song ends, Ayushmann embraces his shortcomings and does Shah Rukh Khan's signature arm spread. The song is a recreated version of Rouge's popular song by the same title. Don't Be Shy is sung by Badshah, Shalmali Kholgade, Gurdeep Mehendi and Sachin - Jigar, who have also composed the song.
Bala is directed by Amar Kaushik and is produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner Maddock Films. It is written by Niren Bhatt and Karan Malhotra and revolves around a man who faces premature balding. Bala is scheduled to release on November 7, 2019.
