Bappi Lahiri, with his music in the 80s and even 90s, redefined and introduced the fun style of disco to Bollywood and made all of us groove to his peppy chartbusters for the longest time possible. The veteran music personality, this year clocked 50 years as a composer with over 600 films and 9000 songs to his credit, the 66-year-old, is now all set to embark on a new journey, but this time on an international platform. Bappida, taking his expertise ahead, has now teamed up with global star Lady Gaga for not just one but two songs. What! Well, yes. Bappida, who is currently in Los Angeles, during an interview with a leading daily, told that he has already recorded two duet songs with the 33-year-old singer, songwriter and actress. He further added that the release date is yet to be finalised but hopefully, it should be out by this year's end. Talking more about his collaborations outside the nation, the Tamma Tamma Loge singer informed that he teamed up with Akon two months ago and that song will be out soon.
“Two duets, with Lady Gaga singing in English and me in Hindi in my inimitable style. We are now waiting for the release to be greenlit, hopefully by the year-end. I also collaborated with Akon two months ago. That song should also be out soon,” Bappida told during the interview.
Well, for Bappida, that's not the end of the tale. In yet another association on the International platform, the former will be teaming with tech house genius Jamie Jones and DJ duo The Martinez Brother for their new mash-up titled 'Bappi'. “It features a remix of my superhit song from Disco Dancer, Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy. The British -Sri Lankan rapper M.I.A. used the same song in her 2007 album Kala and, a year later, it was also there in the climax scene of Adam Sandler-film, You Don’t Mess With The Zohan," Bappida added.
With the ace composer-singer teaming up with icons like Lady Gaga and Akon, it seems fans are bound to enter into a musical euphoria soon.
